I would test at the range, if I had some land I could use this tube to test fire but I live in a neighborhood and that would not go over very well with the home owners association ...
and yes I use this when I am chambering or unloading my home protection firearm.
most of the firearms I work on are older between 50 - 100 years old
and yes slam fire is an issue with older guns
