The caveat here for Garand is if you want a collectable, get a WWII original. If you want a shooter, look for something newer.
A build your own, or a commemorative, but something with a good barrel, and fresh parts.
Otherwise, you are going to spend a lot of time and money, on a greasy, worn out "collectors item".
